HE DIED AT THE AGE OF 26.  1868-1894

THE FRANK COULTIER ORCHESTRA FIRST PLAYED "OVER THE WAVES IN 1927 FOR BALL ROOM DANCING.  WHEN LAWRENCE WELK BECAME

FOR THE MOVIE "THE GREAT CARUSO" FILMED IN 1951, LYRICS WERE WRITTEN FOR ONE VERSE.  ACTRESS ANN BLYTH SANG THE SONG, CALLED "IT'S THE LOVELIEST NIGHT OF THE  YEAR."

WHEN YOU ARE IN LOVE,
IT'S THE LOVELIEST NIGHT OF THE YEAR.
STARS TWINKLE ABOVE,
YOU CAN ALMOST TOUCH THEM FROM HERE.
WORDS FALL INTO RHYME,
ANYTIME HE IS HOLDING YOU NEAR.
WHEN YOU ARE IN LOVE,
IT'S THE LOVELIEST NIGHT OF THE  YEAR.
Waltzing along in the blue,
Like a breeze dipping over the sand.
Led by the wonder of you,
And magical touch of your hand.
My heart skips a beat,
Like a child whose birthday is near.
So, kiss me, my sweet,
It's the Loveliest Night Of The Year!

Joe Boeckmann of Conway, Arkansas, said his father always sang a second verse to "Loveliest Night Of The Year."
I added it.  Makes a nice final touch to
"Over The Waves."  Thanks, Joe!
